UPFARM seeks to transform social farming (SF) into a regional driver of inclusive and sustainable employment for long-term unemployed (LTUs) in Tuscany. The project’s scaling strategy is anchored in four territorial living labs serving as hubs for co-governance, capacity building, and innovative job placement pathways. Inspired by transnational co-creation and best practices from other EU contexts, these labs will function as quadruple-helix alliances, placing LTUs at the center and empowering them as agents of innovation within SF enterprises. Beyond the direct creation of 40 job placements, UPFARM aims to leave a lasting impact by equipping stakeholders with the methodologies and governance models necessary to expand SF, foster a culture of inclusivity, and shape policy innovation at both regional and EU levels.
P2P Lab is supporting the development of the scaling strategy in Tuscany through case study research and facilitating the creation of an international Community of Practice involving social farmers across Europe.
