PHYGITAL promotes the ‘Design Global, Manufacture Local’ (DGML) model by establishing makerspaces in Greece, Cyprus, and Albania. These collaborative spaces empower local communities to develop open-source solutions using digital fabrication technologies, fostering innovation, resilience, and sustainable entrepreneurship. By combining global knowledge with local production, PHYGITAL enhances self-sufficiency and strengthens community-driven development.

Our role

P2P Lab led the research, design, and implementation efforts, particularly in Greece. Through the creation of the Tzoumakers makerspace, P2P Lab facilitated the development of open-source tools for small-scale agriculture, showcasing the potential of DGML for sustainable and inclusive innovation. Additionally, P2P Lab fostered collaborations between researchers, makers, and local farmers, ensuring that the project’s outcomes aligned with real community needs.
