Maro works at the intersection of collaborative research, strategy development and participatory learning. She has more than 15 years of experience in advancing methodologies for strategic planning, community engagement and impact assessment with and for international as well as grassroots civil society organisations. Maro’s research focuses on care commons and the politics of time and the associated links to larger socio-ecological transformations. She also has a background in human rights and international development studies, and has worked as a researcher and consultant for several transnational research projects focusing on emerging forms of citizen action and socio-political transitions (University of Sussex, University of York, London School of Economics, American University of Cairo). Previously, she served as the Deputy Director for Amnesty International’s Global Strategy Programme, leading on the development of multi-stakeholder international projects. Maro has been an affiliate with P2P Lab since 2019 and a core collective member since 2024.
